Terms of Use

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Who we are

This website (ethiopian-codex.com) sells The Ethiopian Codex, an independent educational e-book about the books of the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible. In these terms, "we" means the publisher of The Ethiopian Codex and "you" means anyone who visits the site or buys the product. Contact: suporte@ethiopian-codex.com.

2. Using the site

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You agree not to misuse the site, for example by sending automated requests to the free-preview form or trying to break its security.

3. Purchases and payment

Payments are processed by Hotmart, which acts as the payment platform and reseller. When you buy, you also accept Hotmart's terms of purchase and privacy policy. The price shown on the page is the price charged at checkout; taxes, currency conversion and card fees depend on your country and payment method and are shown by Hotmart before you pay.

After payment is confirmed, Hotmart gives you access to the product. If you do not receive access, write to us or contact Hotmart support.

4. 7-day guarantee and refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 7 days of purchase, for any reason. Request it through Hotmart (in the purchase confirmation email or at Hotmart's help center) or write to suporte@ethiopian-codex.com. After a refund, access to the product ends.

5. Your licence to the e-book

The e-book is for your personal, non-commercial use. You may read it on your own devices and print it for yourself. You may not resell, share, upload or distribute it, in whole or in part, without our written permission. Short quotations with credit, for review or study, are welcome.

The ancient texts quoted in the book are taken from public-domain translations, which remain free for everyone. Our commentary, structure, design and translations are protected by copyright.

6. Free preview

The free preview sent by email is a sample of the book for your personal use. The same licence rules apply to it.

7. Educational content

The Ethiopian Codex is an independent educational guide based on public-domain translations and published scholarship. It is not an official publication of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church or any other church, and it is not religious, legal or professional advice. Scholars disagree on many of these topics; the book cites its sources so you can check them. This site is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

8. Liability

We work to keep the content accurate, but we provide the site and the e-book "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from their use. Our total liability for a purchase is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that cannot be waived.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not affect purchases already made.

10. Contact
