1. Summary

We collect very little: your email address if you ask for the free preview, and the technical data any website receives. We do not sell your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to suporte@ethiopian-codex.com.

2. Who is responsible

The publisher of The Ethiopian Codex is responsible for the data collected on ethiopian-codex.com. Contact for any privacy request: suporte@ethiopian-codex.com.

3. What we collect and why

Free preview form: your email address, the language you chose (English or Spanish) and your consent. We use them to send you the free preview and, as the form says, occasional notes about the book. The legal basis is your consent.

Technical data: when you visit the site, our hosting provider receives your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and keeps them in short-lived logs for security and to keep the site running. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure site.

Purchases: payment is handled entirely by Hotmart. We do not see or store your card details. Hotmart shares with us the information needed to deliver the product and provide support (such as your name and email). Hotmart's own privacy policy applies to the data you give them.

Links: buttons may carry campaign tags (such as src or utm_) to the checkout so we know which video or page brought a sale. These tags do not identify you personally.

4. Cookies

This site does not set its own cookies and does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with it. If we ever add analytics or advertising pixels, we will update this policy and ask for consent where the law requires it. The Hotmart checkout uses its own cookies, described in Hotmart's policy.

5. Who processes your data for us

Resend sends our emails and stores the related records (address, sending logs). Vercel hosts the site. Hotmart processes payments. Google Fonts serves the typefaces. These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and Brazil, under their own security and data-transfer safeguards.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Server logs are kept only for a short period by the hosting provider. Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the LGPD in Brazil), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, withdraw your consent, or object to its use. Write to suporte@ethiopian-codex.com and we will reply within 15 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

To stop receiving emails from us, click "Unsubscribe" at the bottom of any email, or write to the same address with the word "unsubscribe".

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
